Naruto 647 review.

Howdy everyone and welcome to this week's review of Naruto chapter 647.

Last week I asked you guys if you think K kashi will appear again in the manga and if he is even relevent anymore. 15 votes said that Kakashi has to reunite with Minato before the story is over, 8 votes said that he no longer has any plot significance , 4 said he might die and just one guy thinks Kakashi will just appear in the epilogue. I personally believe Kakashi still has a role to play, especially when I saw Hiruzen appear I knew Kakashi has a good chance of showing up and doing something useful now.

The chapter starts with a brief shot of the 5 Kages rushing to aid the Alliance thanks to Gaara's sand, of course it's still taken them a long time to get here when you stop and think about it but that's fine with me. We go back to the Shinobis and witness the destruction brought on from Jyuubito's attack.

Good plan to stay behind and "help" Naruto.
I read a lot about how the Jyuubi might just get the Chakra from people and not kill them but seeing how weak Shikimaru is and how he thinks he's going to die it's pretty obvious that Obito is aiming for their lives as well as their Chakra.

Obito tries again to break the will of the Shinobi, he's done this many times before and I have been re-reading the manga lately and from the start when Madara asked Obito what he wanted to do with the enemy he said " I want them to feel despair" so it's clear that no matter what happens Obito is aiming to break their fighting spirit first, I think a part of that is because it would make the genjutsu a lot easier to use if everyone just submit to it.

One thing I see a lot in villains who wish to create a perfect world is that they tend to force others to go with them towards this "perfect world" which is strange, if everyone is going to be happy and healthy in this world then why do they need to be forced to go there? why can't they just choose not to go? and how real is this false world anyways? All I know is that I wouldn't accept an offer like this, to sleep and always be happy, doesn't sound real to me.

Hashirama thinks that this Genjutsu is the same as dying, kinda is I guess, die and go to heaven or fall to this technique and live in a dream world. But before he can say anymore guess who finally joins the party?

Minor Note: I am a big fan of Suigetsu, no idea why considering he barely does anything, just find him funny, also I enjoy how Orochimaru is always polite to everyone, that's a very cool quality for a villain that makes them very interesting.

Orochimaru notices that Sasuke doesn't seem happy with the current turn of events, whether it's because of how the fight is going or because of seeing Naruto become so powerful is unclear but Sasuke has been very "off" somehow for a while now and I wonder who Orochimaru would side with if Sasuke betrayes the Alliance. Remember Orochimaru's first statement when getting revived was that he wanted Sasuke's body/

So that's about 15 chapters I suppose, still this does give us a clue on how the story will go, in 15 minutes either Obito activates the technique or he no longer is the Jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails, personally its been a load of crap that he can control it so easily after becoming it's host so I'd be glad if he somehow gets defeated in that time before the Moon Eye plan is completed.

Using Ino's technique Hashirama is able to relay what he heard to everyone in the Alliance including the arriving 5 Kages and tells them they should aim either for the tree or Obito in the time they have. I'd aim for the tree myself, Obito is a hard target to hit and he has that black shield that has stopped every attack so far, the Tree seems somewhat less scary somehow. Maybe I have a thing against tree but the Ten-tails was so much more threatening before, it's like it went from Venasaur into Tree-saur

we go from this...

To this " I'mma kill you all"
So yeah... not impressed by its final form. Anyways Hashirama's pep talk and telling people not to give up inspires some while others point out that he is just an Edo Tensei and isn't like the rest of them, good point really after all how alive are these zombies to begin with?

At least one guy though isn't going to lay on his butt and give up, while I may give him some flak sometimes Sasuke does the best thing here, too often people stand around talking about inspiration and hope, Sasuke just goes and cuts the damn Tree and shows people that hey, this thing is not invincible and if you work together you can take it down. No words or drama just plain old Sasuke and I love it.

Why can't you say " Are you okay, scaredy cat?" Already?
Somehow by being connected to Naruto's Chakra people are able to see his memories, really weird to see so many flashbacks in this chapter to be honest, it was flowing well and this sort of just stops the story in it's tracks like that with a slideshow of everyone who has died so far. Still this "inspires" the Alliance and the chapter ends with Naruto in Kyuubi mode yelling how he won't let everything go to waste.

Predictions.

Firstly I can't tell from the art but it seems the Tree healed almost exactly after it was cut by Sasuke, that's how it looked like to me, but I imagine that what Suigetsu said about how many saws they would need to cut it down to be a minor foreshadowing that it's far more likely they will cut down this Tree than Obito, either they will burn it down or somehow chop it down, can't imagine any other way to damage it.

Sasuke continues to hold Juugo close to him, he even takes him inside the Susanoo when he attacks the Tree and earlier he wanted to save Naruto and Juugo from Obito's explosion which further convinces me that somehow Juugo is very vital in this fight, assuming the Tree can only be damaged by Sage energy then Juugo is the perfect guy to bring it down somehow.

Ratings.

I apologize for the long review this week, this chapter is far longer than most that have come out and I tend to over analyze things, still overall not much happens in this chapter really, Orochimaru arrives to the battlefield and Sasuke cuts down the tree a little and that's it roughly so it's hardly a game changer right now. Still I enjoyed it somewhat and give it a 3 out of 5.

What did you guys think? good chapter? am I being too harsh? will the Kages do anything? let me know :D

  1. Karin shouldn't even get panel time if shes not gonna do shit but think about Sauske.. Like really why did the tree stop...what... it got tired of sucking chakra out of everyone?

    1. Well it's firmly established that Karin is dying for some Sasuke D.

As for why the tree stopped? well good question I think Obito just got bored but I know he needs more chakra to drain so its weird that the tree stopped.

  2. I liked your review but tbh i liked the fact everyone got to feel everything about naruto and how hard his lives been. If you think about past villains such as pain, they want the ninjas to know what pain they cause, and here we have naruto, someone they always put down or hated to begin with who is now defending them. Wouldn't this then give them more understanding of obito plus the pain they cause people. They all now know what its liek to be jinjuriki. also I think the tree stopped (like you thought it was hugely disappointing) because well its a tree it must have limitations and everyone is just outside of it now. I expect that like you said sasuke will use juugo to be able to get at obito but in my opinion he will be struck down and it will be a pumped up sage/kyubbi naruto (who is a distant relative of the senju clan) and the darker side being sasuke who as we know is an uchia both parts of the sage. The only reason I think Obito can control the ten tails, is because the 1-9 tails were more sentient than the 10 tails and needed cooperation I assume the ten tails is more just a matter of will since he is so barbaric and he does have uchia blood and is made partly of harishima's cells.

    1. I just felt it stopped the flow of the chapter, lots of story then BAM, flashbacks to when Asuma die and Naruto fought Sasuke, it's like erm... why is this here?

I don't think it matters if they understand Obito or not, he has killed too many people to be forgiven and unlike Pain who could revive them Obito just seems... irredeemable somehow.

I suppose so but I just assumed more chakra = harder to control and Obito just hasn't struggled with it enough for me to just accept that he can control it like that.

  3. "also I enjoy how Orochimaru is always polite to everyone, that's a very cool quality for a villain that makes them very interesting." This is flawless dude, loved that part.

LOL been agreeing with you on so many things man. Week after week I read the chapter and think about something that pissed me off, low and behold you write about it in everyone of your articles. ESPECIALLY with the flashbacks in this chapter. It had great flow and then BOOM all the momentum just stopped. Classic Kishimoto, old habits die hard lmao.

As far as the Kage that just arrived I feel as if they'll command their shinobi respectively, and that each village has its own ultimate attack that include the Kage. Seeing as that both Naruto and Sasuke(the two main characters)were off training during the transition period between part 1 and part2, the former Team 7 members will be completely unaware of what's going on. We'll see the 5 ultimate attacks create an opening for both Naruto and Sasuke at some point.

And yes I also agree that Juugo will be a potential game changer, who knows when though.

    1. Glad you're enjoying reading this and I couldn't agree more, I mean we had this great moment of Sasuke chopping down the tree and waking naruto up and then flashbacks, really? now? well... Ok O.o it felt so weird.

That's an interesting theory, would be awesome if like the fire country had an amazing group fire attack, the Mizukage and the water country would use some massive Water jutsu, I mean we already saw the Alliance working together to immobilize the Juubi so I'd love to see this 5 big elemental attacks thing.

Can't wait for Juugo to do something, I mention it almost every time I see it, I think Kishi is foreshadowing it hard for us.

    2. Exactly! Maybe when the water shinobi use a giant water jutsu, the Mizukage could use her Lava Style to mix and create a steam style. And who knows maybe all the other villages will follow and use one of the other 15-20 idr style of jutsu to mix. And then the real badass' can get involved. For example Sasuke could use blaze by himself and Gaara could use Magnet by himself etc......the collected Jutsu could be used with Naruto's Senjutsu to fuck shit up. BOOM THERE'S YOUR SERIES hahaha. It's a Dragonball Z stretch but at this point that's all I think about after reading Naruto.

    3. I see it that way too actually, the days of smart tactics like Naruto vs Neji are long gone, now its all about who can do the biggest blast or summon the largest pokemon.

    4. bahahaha so true, so very true.

  4. The pictures you used to illustrate your review are pathetic... This isn't a good day to me so far. I have not fall in blind rage....
See? Not a good day to me. Do you think everyone don't have a miserable life in this goddamn world? Hunger, sadness, depression, pain, rejection? The world of Naruto is WORSE. It's a world constructed by lies and suffering and war. Wait...Well, anyway, Kisame knows this and therefore allied with Tobi.
Tobi, just like Naruto, wants to save everyone even if that's not what they want. He is a Dark Messiah. WITH ME OR AGAINST ME, said Jesus.

The flashbacks mean a point. IT'S NOW. The circle of tragedies, lies and deaths that led to the resurrection Juubi will be closed now. Obito is going down, and Madara with him. Nice, because Orochimaru is just waiting to take Sasuke's body when all is over.
Why orochimaru? Because he is a villain barely related to Akatsuki and the only people that Naruto even THINKS as an ally, in any moment. naruto just wants to kill him, that is.

PS:The fact that there is someone in this world who believe Sasuke can become Hokage makes me lose hope in humanity. That's a lot of stupidity for me to endure.

    1. Sorry I either use pictures I think are funny or ones related to what I talk about, sorry you didn't enjoy them :/.

Tobi wants Rin, and to do that he needs other people for this infinite tsukiyomi ( not sure why ) and if they accept his logic it would be easier for him to do his plan and everything. A world without winners and losers sounds nice but its also a life with no accomplishments and suffering is what brings out the best in people... sometimes.

I am pretty sure Sasuke can't be Kage, too many crimes to just let it all go but its just a funny image for me.

    2. Well, I just wanted this grey insanity to end. Naruto don't looks better than Obito at all. The Alliance doesn't have once centimeter of moral ground over Akatsuki. They're also killers, tortures and war criminals. Hell, they created Akatsuki, even if indirectly! Seriously why we would cheer Naruto? He's just as pathetic and idealistic as Obito. The difference is that the plan of Obito is 20% more sane than the plan of Naruto, who is just "we hold our hands together and everything will be fine". God, Tobi created the Alliance, not Naruto! He's doing more for world peace than this blonde idiot ever did and ever will do!

    3. Hmm a common enemy is one of the best way to unite people, but if people start a witch hunt to find some serial killer and he brings people together, that doesn't make the serial killer some sort of good guy for bringing all these people together.

Obito's plan is not sane or good in anyway, he wants to create a dream world for everyone that is fake and doesn't exist, Naruto is aiming for a more idealistic but real peace which is more important.

But this is a difference of opinion, I don't think you're wrong or right simply I disagree with some things you say as you disagree with some things I say, doesn't make one of us more " right " than the other, simply two people with different opinions.

  5. Yes it stopped the flow of the chapter. But in the last page you’ll see that the willpower and determination returned to the cinema audience. Eventually Naruto wants to become the Hokage, so he needs these people for at least that reason :-)

    - Indeed, what made the branches take a break
    - How come no-one realized that sasuke summoned Susanoo??? Even Obito didn't see that giant coming?
    - Why do we see on page 22 Orochimaru (and other kage's) thinking ......? while they are not connected to Naruto's chakra so they can't see his past!
-Why is Minato always looking so depressed and insecure like a wuss, while in the past he was portrait like a Super Hero?

    1. - Maybe he thinks he has enough chakra, which is weird cause otherwise why charge it for 15 minutes to get More chakra? just keep sucking from the Alliance.

      - Apparently all eyes were on Shikimaru or something, plot blindness I call it.

      - My mistake, Ino was the one sending Naruto's feelings some people say.

      - Minato was more badass looking before, like in Jiraya's flashback.

  6. Glad you told me what was going on with Sasuke and Naruto. They were procrastinating and Sasuke went in ready to fight. I just hope it doesn't have a fckd up ending. Naruto's my second favorite manga and if its time to end the series, it should go out with a bang.

  7. I've become numb to sobby flashbacks, and I'm disappointed with how the series has become some sappy shit with questionable morality. I just want to say many interpret the first flashback as a reharse of "poor Naruto, he's so lonely". No, that's a SasuNaru moment, Naruto is thinking if he became friends with Sasuke earlier, things might've turned out differently between them. And how these flashbacks manage to motivate the alliance I have no idea...If I were one of the fodder shinobi, would I care about Naruto and Sasuke didn't talk to each other in the playground? in the middle of a war?....and would I care about Naruto met up with Edo Itachi who is still a villain to everyone except the few who know the truth? I find Hashirama's speech more motivational, he said it like it is, you might has well die if you're stripped of free will.

I'm glad badass Sasuke is back. He doesn't preach, he simply does his shit.

    3. Agreed with you bro, its like why should a random ninja care about how Naruto and Sasuke kissed each other? how is that a part of Naruto's " mighty feelings"?

You say it so well bro, I should be quoting you :p

    1. Oh not really That sure it's just... I don't expect it to happen, Gaara may have been a killer but he didn't target his village like Sasuke did and he was made kage to become easier to control, I doubt the fire country operates that way.

  9. Well its still possible 4 sasuke to become hokage,he has a chance to proove himself in this war......besides naruto and sasuke are currently the strongest in konoha
