Greetings everyone and welcome to this week's review of Naruto 649, last week I asked you guys which "inspiring" speech you enjoyed the most in this arc, Naruto's or Hashirama's, the biggest number of votes go to Naruto with 11 votes, 10 people voted that they didn't like either, 4 votes said they were all awesome and just one guy thought that Hashirama delivered a better speech than Naruto. Personally I think both were unneeded but if I had to pick Naruto's was better, the flashback with Hashirama was kinda pointless and just showed him being pathetic really.
Anyways lets talk about this chapter and from the start I'll give you a nice summary
TL;DR: nothing happens.
TL;DR: nothing happens.
We see the five Kages also get inspired by Hashirama's speech from, saying how they wont need meetings like that after they win the war, Tsunade calls them the Gokage which I believe means 5th Kage unless I am wrong and I think I am because A is the 4th and Oonoki is the 3rd, must be some sort of translation error or maybe I just am mistaken.
We get some panels of the Alliance getting pumped up and ready and we all know it's pointless to show them, I mean is Madara going to be brought down by some no name? will any of them contribute something meaningful to this war? why are we wasting our time seeing these guys do absolutely nothing?
Thank god Captain Shuriken is here or this war would be a lost cause. |
Surprise everyone, we get a flashback of Shikimaru and it's something we've seen before actually during the Pain arc when Shikaku confronted Naruto, exactly the same thing but from Shikimaru' point of view this time and all it does is just have him say he will become Naruto's adviser in the future... I think Sai sums up the whole flashback in a single panel.
Quality writing people. |
Oonoki showing us how observant he is. |
Otherwise the chapter ends exactly as the last one did, with Hashirama shouting something big and that's it... yeah really nothing happened.
Predictions.
Firstly all this talk and inspiration from the Alliance will be completely useless, none of these fodder will contribute anything so I still can't see why we are wasting time and panels on nameless ninjas but fine it's something I'm used to by now.
I expect a meeting between the former team Minato, Obito and Kakashi, it will be interesting to see how Minato finds out that it's Kakashi and not Obito who inherited his will of fire and I really hope that happens.
I expect we will see a lot of characters perform their signature moves, like the Double Lariat, Ten Ten will throw something, Lee and Gai will open the gates, basically everyone will do something that is nice to look at and won't contribute much unless Juugo powers everyone with the cursed seal.
Ratings.
A chapter like the last 2, completely pointless and just shows how slow the pacing is right now, seriously if Naruto moves any slower we're going to start going backwards soon and apart from 1-2 enjoyable panels this is was just a complete waste of a chapter and gets a 1 out of 5 from me.
Quotes.
Tobirama minato and Hiruzen along with the kages focus on taking down the tree.
"The five kages can't keep Madara busy, what makes you think anyone else can?
Hashirama focus on Madara
Sasuke and naruot focus on obito..
Everyone else: move bitch get out the way."
-Prince Sasuke

Agreed, we have had enough flashbacks, I actually want to see the future not the past for once.
DeleteDude hands down the best thing you've said. I'd rather make a new memory and go forward. Not rethink old decisions or think about the past as much as possible. LOL you know I've always had this theory that Kishimoto has alzheimers and he thinks that the fans are on his level. "Gotta remind em all!!!" -Ash Kishem
DeleteLol you just made me laugh with that reference to pokemon, well played :D

ReplyDeleteUhh keep it clean please and don't insult anyone else, I get that some people have opinions we disagree with but I don't want any arguments between people on my blog, constructive ones are fine but not name calling and insults.
DeleteBoy, I think you didn't get the obvious hint that Kishimoto is giving us. Madara is all about PRIDE AND SHIT AND EVERYONE IS A INSECT COMPARED TO ME AND HASHIRAMA!. A "no name fodder" defeating him would be the destruction of his ego. The ultimate irony. Madara would be not just defeated physically, but morally. In the end, the guy who defeat him is scum, but he would be WORSE THAN SCUM.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Madara abbandoned his friend and family. He betrayed even his last ally now. If he is defeated by teamwork, the circle is complete.
"In the Ninja World, those who break the rules are scum, that's true...but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum!"
But, you know, this isn't the first time that Kishimoto foreshadows something that don't happen.
I would agree with you if that actually happened, but I'd bet a lung that a major character beats Madara and not some fodder, even if he is brought down by team work it just shows that to defeat Madara it has to be the world vs Madara and I don't think that would break his ego.
Deletewerya made it here !!!!!! =D
ReplyDeleteFinally :D
Deletewhat did you think of the review and the chapter?
Completely agree with this, I love inspirational speeches but come on, I understand naruto has always been headstrong and would rush to battle even if it meant death. Sasuke too would try to fight obitio to test himself but the whole alliance makes no sense now. Naruto attacked pain alone so noone would get in his way, now there is a full army who can do nothing but be eaten by a tree and power up the bad guy. The kage, Orochimaru and other S class ninja should stay the rest should retreat and offer naruto's chakra back to him. Also shouldn't madara be kicking the first hokage's butt, he now has the rinnengan he is also juiced up with the hokage's own power, on the other hand there is Harishima who is split into shadow clones so should be weaker than him full self.
ReplyDeleteGlad you agree with me, I mean we have had enough inspiration already and why the heck do Shinobi need to be inspired anyway? they should be prepared to throw away their lives at any moment without needing anyone to cheer them on. And I said before that everyone without a name should leave right now, what's a guy with a shuriken going to contribute anyway? and neither Madara nor Obito use their Rinnengan jutsu or they would have won by now.
DeleteTo me it feels like he has rushed everyone a little to get to this point and now he isn't sure how he should proceed.
DeleteThats the problem, he wrote himself into a corner by making Obito and Madara so powerful and now how will our heroes beat them? if the enemy has super strength, speed, durability and unlimited mana then how does the hero win?
DeleteThese inspiring chapters are there while Kishi figures out how to finish his story.
Only thing i can think of that woud even have a chance is either the second or orochimaru ressurecting rin so as to cause some confusion to obito. As for madara after re-reading the battle against the kage i cant see a way of him being beaten.
Deletei clock at the end the way the 1st said that naruto memories is the hope of the shimo generation .. i was thinking this is linked with jiraiya sensei's book "tales of a gutsy ninja"(which basicaly is about NARUTO) im i going somewhere with this plz discuss
ReplyDeleteWe already knew this though, I mean the whole Pein arc was about how Naruto was the character from the book so it's not much of a breakthrough to be reminded of it again in this arc.
DeleteSome time I wonder why I still continue reading Naruto. It's getting pretty lame at some points with all the useless flashbacks, not to mention all those details which crashed at each other throughout the 600+ episodes. I bet Madara will be defeated by some no-name shinobi, Sasuke and Naruto will kiss each other to make up. ect ect...
ReplyDeleteStuck around this long I want to know how it ends basically, but I can pretty much easily say that part 1 > part 2 by miles.
DeleteAgree!
