Naruto 651 review

Hello everyone and welcome to this week's review for Naruto 651, after several weeks of mostly buildup this chapter came to a big climax but before that lets start from the beginning.

The Susanoo/Kyuubi mixture which we saw all the way from Hashirama's flashback shows up, from last chapter I thought it would be some sort of half/half thing where we get some sort of Two-face like fusion but no it's very similar to what Madara did with the Nine-tails in the past, Sasuke even points this out and I can't help but wonder if that means Sasuke is gonna walk down the same road as Madara since he is uxing the exact same technique as he did in the past and knows it as well.

I hear a lot of comments on how Kakashi is taking his sweet time to go back to the Alliance and someone mentioned how he knows the fight isn't over because he shares vision with Obito, can't say that makes too much sense to me because they haven't shared vision since Rin died right? But I am thinking it's like Harry Potter's scar which allows them to share vision and emotion when one of them is feeling particularly emotional towards something.

You never really think of Harry potter when you read Naruto do you? feels weird. I also don't get the whole " Filling each other's holes" thing that Naruto is always talking about, Naruto wants to fill Sasuke's hole and Obito wants his holes filled, sure they mean hearts but it sounds so wrong somehow.
Moving on though Obito summons this gigantic sword and shield to use against this new fusion of Kyuubi and Susanoo, I personally find it a bit overkill to have something that massive but this is Naruto 4.0 where the person with the biggest Pokemon is the strongest fighter in the series.

The sword Obito is using the same sword the Sage of 6 Paths used to create the world, I find this a very odd thing to say since the world existed before the Sage came along and all he did was create Ninjutsu, you gotta ask how high Obito is right now but let's not go down that road and find out.

Incredible art I must say.
Naruto somehow manages to give his friends even greater amounts of chakra, to the point where they have the same cloak he does and all of them use a Rasengan to destroy Obito's shield, I personally liked seeing Lee doubt himself a little when they attacked since at this point all of Naruto's friends seem kind of the same, none of them has had a moment to shine in the last 300 chapters so it's nice for a little characterization like reminding us how Lee can't use ninjutsu was added to the scene, small but nice touch Kishi.

The combination of all 9 rasengans manages to destroy the shield, at first I thought it was 10 of them since Sakura is one of the panels but she's just back with Tsunade healing, this arc really hasn't helped Sakura much in my opinion, especially compared to Ino who really stood out among the female cast in my opinion when she shares intel with the whole Alliance the way she does. Hell Shino and Tenten are attacking Obito and Sakura isn't.

Even if you don't want to be Hokage, you also want to be Hokage.
We get a few pages of Obito imagining how his life would have been different if he had returned to Konoha after Rin died, it's kinda interesting but I feel like we have been through this before when Obito was dying the first time and Madara forced him to try and revive him so it's kind of old. Still quite interesting to see how Obito would have liked life to be had he not gone, you know...crazy.

The chapter ends with Naruto and Sasuke's attack going through Obito, it kind of looks like they may have damaged him a lot but again it wouldn't be the first time they landed a solid hit only for it to be shrugged off so hopefully next chapter will shed some light into Obito's situation.
Predictions.
1- You gotta wonder where the 5 Kages are, at first I thought they would cut up the tree or something but considering how they clearly aren't involved with the Obito fight ( since Naruto's friends are there and the 5 Kages aren't) I predict a rematch between the 5 Kages and Madara.

2- Obito probably still has like 5 chapters of life left in him even if he is dying somehow, doesn't matter how badly wounded he is, he's Obito he can't just die without Kishi trying to get us to feel sorry for him.

3- A dream world arc has been discussed a lot and we are very close to finding out if it's possible or not since it's almost time for the eye of the moon plan, my bet is that as Obito is just like 2 seconds from dying, he activates the Infinite Tsukiyomi and we get a dream world arc.
Ratings.
I enjoyed the action in this chapter even though it came with a certain sense that this will all be reset, can't help feeling that way because of how slow the Manga has moved recently, still at least it does feel like progress and I dunno, this chapter just felt better than usual somehow and because of that I'll give it a 3 out of 5 and hope to read your comments on what you thought of it.
Quotes.
" I won't give up " ... this is the answer of main hero for everything ... and kishi wants readers to sympathy with him while giving him more chakra in less than ten seconds ... if other characters have so much chakra , they wouldn't give up as well .... " -shafagh

  1. I think sakura is doing a good job, She healed a lot of people and she took out a couple of mini juubi clones.

    1. Yeah she is, but it doesn't seem as badass as what others are doing.

    2. I think it's pretty badass with her jutsus which are the same as tsunades. she just plays another role and it's not the role of the destroying.

  2. Although i liked the action I actually felt this chapter kinda rushed it.They go from not even being able to land a hit to smashing the most powerful jutsu in history. Also considering Kurama's history with uchiha chakra i felt as though sasuke's susano should have failed the first time instead of making him and naruto the perfect tag team. Your theory about the eye being like harry's scar probably the only way it can be explained though i still felt it to be a little stupid, probably more emtional if kakashi came out of the world to see it happen.
I epect this will be the end of obito but madara will swat harashima away and race to obito's body, with him weakened using his sharingan, force obito to revive him.

    1. Actually they did manage to land the Naruto rasengan before which damaged Obito and was forgotten next chapter for some reason, still you'd think that shield would last a bit longer and yet it's like we did infact cram 3 chapters of action into just a few panels.

I agree that Obito is not long for this world though, he always seems like he is one step away from death, your theory on Madara forcing him to revive him is very interesting by the way :D

    2. Thanks i love talking about to naruto to you btw haha. And i know he got hit but because they did kinds forget it i just put it down to obito showing how strong he was, that naruto's favourite weapon obito took on head first.. and yeah deff three chapters worth, we have had many speeches just trying to get people to fight and as soon as they do it looks like boom one attack

    3. Don't worry about it bro, we got one chapter worth of action so that we have more chapters for flashbacks, yaaaay..... or not :/

    4. I have a feeling that you are close to right about Madara becoming more important in the next chapter or so. He seems to have been waiting for something like this to happen because he has been so confident that he was in control of the entire situation. Every time i think this series is about done it just keeps building. I love it though, but hope when it does end that they do it right.

    5. Remember Madara did mention he has a trump card of some sort and I honestly cannot imagine something even more powerful than the Ten Tails but I am interested in finding out what it is.

    1. Yup, that's exactly what i noticed! I think the fusion of Uchiha power and his own chakra being of the uzumaki clan (relative to senju clan) allowed him to become sage for a moment i think that's why the sword cracked on the susanoo wrapped sword. Not to mention naruto was given power from all the bijuu minus the 1 tail.

    2. Actually I saw it as a mixture of Obito and Naruto's faces, maybe I'm wrong but he does have the same horns as Obito and his scar around the eye.

  4. Hello, yet another great review fellow 22er. cant type much my hand is slashed. thank you!

  5. Ahn, you saw the cut in the last page, right? They cut him in half. I think that was a dying dream that Obito saw.
I mean, RULE OF FLASHBACK. After that, Obito shall die. Was more like a FLASHFORWARD, but it's the same thing. Obito dies now.

Also, was a duel between swords. Years watching Power Rangers teached me that there's nothing more epic to end a fight. It's not flashy, but have that kind of symbolic motif that the Japanese like.

    1. It kind of looks like they cut him in half but I don't think the panel is That clear to me, still I am sure Obito won't be dying too soon, Tsunade got cut into 2 pieces and she's still kicking right?

I do enjoy a battle between swords, you should check out Roruni Kenshin, best sword show ever :D

  6. all i can say is when most of naruto's friends got the same cloak he had on and they all wielded the rasengan, my mind blew up like 7 times.

  7. I thought this chapter was pretty awesome. All that build up to finally get a colossal attack on Obito. Someone get that man a diaper!!! I loved the Kyuubi/Susanno rasengan power panel too, just some really good art....but I have to admit I lost my shit when Sakura was completely left out of the attack.
I still hope Orochimaru is the final big bad somehow. At this point I couldn't guess what direction Kishi could use to get there though.

    1. I also found it extremely ironic how Chouji is helping to bring down Obito's shield and Sakura is busy healing, I get it she's a good medic but that just seems so boring.

Always wanted Orochimaru to be the big bad, still hoping he makes it there somehow.

  8. I might be missing something but I think Obito will have a change of heart as he's dying and he won't activate the infinite tsukuyomi (sp?). After all Naruto is known for his "ability to change people" and Obito's uncertainty and flashbacks kind of point toward it. Maybe Madara somehow activates it anyway though?

  9. I thought obito's plan was create a world which is better? Then why is he sayin his going to destroy the world. That doesn't make sence.

    1. It's cute how that's the only thing that doesn't make sense :P

  10. By showing those flashbacks (by Kishi), I'm sure that in the final moments of his life, Obito will regret his actions and die with regret. Also is he going to acknowledge Naruto just like Nagato did.

  12. It's also funny to see that the 6Path Sword is DNA structured. Like Obito said: "A sword of the Soul"

  13. I think that Madara will take control over Obito after Naruto somehow manages to change his mind about the whole 'moon eye plan'. Really liked that all the rookies we're fighting Obito and can't wait for the next chapter :D.
